About Shane.

Owner and coach Shane Newman is an experienced boxer with more than 20 years and many bouts under his belt. Originally from the UK,  Shane has trained alongside professional boxers and Olympic medallists.

“I first got into boxing when my next door neighbour came knocking on my door saying they were going to try boxing and asked if I wanted to come. I Remember it like it was yesterday, I was hooked!

That was when I was 12 and I have continued my relationship with the sport until this day, though these days on the other side of the ring!

When moving to Australia I found a Youth Club at the end of my road that had boxing in the gym.  People warmed to me as I did to them and I loved sharing my knowledge of boxing and teaching people correct boxing technique whilst helping them reach their personal fitness goals. I love seeing the transformation in people even in a couple of weeks and seeing people step out of their comfort zones and develop confidence in themselves while growing a love for the sport that I’m so passionate about.

My long term dream of opening a boxing gym has become a reality in Newman Boxing, and I’m so proud that Newman Boxing is a genuine, welcoming club that people love being a part of.”
